You don’t need to be a ‘twitcher’ to enjoy Norfolk life.
Of course there are birds but there is so much more. Lovely beaches in all weathers and idyllic in those warm, lazy summer days when even the sea is enticing.
It is also wonderful to sail on in the creeks or out at sea.
You can take the ferry to Scolt Head Island or another boat to see the seals.
There are walks over marsh or through fields, on sands or down the Peddars Way. There is golf and tennis.
Stately homes abound from Sandringham in the west to Blickling Hall in the east. Nearer to home are Holkham and Houghton both very much worth a visit.
Great retail therapy is to be enjoyed particularly in Burnham Market and at Holt and also at the The Big Blue Sky in Wells.
Nobody can come to north Norfolk without visits to the restaurants and pubs that abound.
The Hero is very local and has good simple food. The Hoste in BM is known to many, but it doesn’t end there – The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe, The Victoria at Holkham, Tichwell Manor, The Duck at Stanhoe all have great reputations. Now there is local fish and chips at BM, Wells has The Crown and The Globe.
You will need the walks after this!
