Cottage Facilities

Plumtree Cottage is a pretty Georgian cottage, a very short walk from the river and beach and opposite The Hero pub. It was once two cottages and the second gate is just visible in the front hedge, as a result it is more spacious than it appears from the outside.

A small-enclosed front garden hides the cottage from the road. The front door leads into a spacious hall with a wooden floor, to the right is a sitting room with open fire, sofa and comfy chairs and TV/DVD with a full Sky package, a radio-CD player with a good selection of CDs and books. There is free WiFi throughout the cottage.

Through the hall one enters the dining room with amtico floor. The kitchen is off the diningroom. It is a good size with breakfast bar and has lots of cupboards. There is an oil-fired Rayburn, microwave ( in the utility room), dishwasher and fridge. It is well equipped with crockery and glasses. The Rayburn heats the hot water which is plentiful and very hot.

The back door leads to the small but pretty back garden. This is completely enclosed. There is a covered area, with a BBQ, where wood is stored for the sittingroom fire.

There is a utility area beyond the dining room with a washer/dryer, a fridge/freezer and the boiler which heats the radiators. A large pantry leads off this area and also a shower room with a toilet.

Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms, one has a king bed, another is a superking or twin and the third is a twin only. There are radiators and cupboards in all the rooms. There is a family bathroom with an airing cupboard and an additional separate toilet and washbasin.

Bedlinen, hand towels and tea towels are provided but not bath towels. There is a phone with an honesty box. There is Wifi through out the cottage.

All electricity, oil and wood are included in the price of the cottage.

Ample parking is available on the lane at the front of the cottage.

Smoking is not allowed in the cottage.

We are really happy to accept dogs for a small additional cost but we do ask that they don’t go upstairs.
